1ST SUMMIT BANK G.H. Miller & McKelvey Family Scholarship
The scholarship, sponsored by 1st Summit Bank and the McKelvey Family, will award not one, but two winners a $2,500 scholarship.
The scholarship is awarded annually in memory of G.H. Miller, a former 1st Summit Bank president, and his granddaughter, Jeanne Wolford McKelvey, Esq., who served on the bank’s Board of Directors, and in honor of the McKelvey Family.
Amount: $2,500 awarded to two winners for a total of $5,000 in scholarships.
Eligibility: A resident of either Cambria, Somerset, Indiana, Blair, or Westmoreland County who is enrolled as a full-time student at a Pennsylvania-based institution this fall.
How to Enter: Complete the entry form, which includes responding to an essay prompt (800 characters or less).
Deadline to enter is July 10, 2023.

1ST SUMMIT BANK Professionals and their families are not eligible.
NO PURCHASE OR TRANSACTION NECESSARY. Open to students who: (a) are registered as a full-time college student for the upcoming fall term at a Pennsylvania-based institution; (b) will be a high school graduate by July, 2023*; (c) reside in Cambria, Somerset, Indiana, Blair, or Westmoreland county; and (d) complete the essay on the entry form. One entry per person. Employees of 1st Summit Bank and their immediate families are not eligible. Entry must be completed on or before July 10, 2023.
Two winners will be selected based on their essay response, and the decision of the judges will be final. Each winner will receive $2,500 with the check being paid to the institution in which they are enrolled in the Fall of 2023. Winners must provide proof of full-time enrollment. If a winner cannot be contacted by July 31, 2023, the Bank may select another winner in their place at a later date.
